2009 predictions for UE: were you right?

Just happened across this old thread asking people seven years ago where they thought urban exploration would be in 1/5/10 years. Since we're between 5 and 10 years in the future, might as well review now.

Nothing especially prophetic, nobody predicting the rise of the international jet-set urban explorer with corporate sponsors, or bus tours, or how Instagram would change things.

Mine was:

Same as always, but with more recognition from artsy types.

which I probably wrote at the time fearing a surge of hipsters that I don't think exactly happened.

This one from someone named Dr. Sneeze is my favourite, and is not far off from the truth minus the cart (plus maybe a Pokemon Go foreshadow):

Giant amusement parks that are made up of abandoned buildings, where you pay admission and ride around on a track in a small cart taking pictures- similar to Pokemon snapshot...

No one could have predicted Seth Douchebag Lawless and his purported legions of clueless douchecanoe fans.

I did not have any predictions. Since 2001 I have been bouncing around in Kalahari caves, and buildings since 2007. In 2014 I found the term "urban exploration" so through that find I found this forum. I genuinely thought I was the only one, so psuedo-celebrities or UE as a career did not cross my mind once.

Trust me, they suck, and so do most of the explorers who have them.
