| | | | Urbex dreams (and possible Deja-vu?) < on 7/21/2015 12:06 AM > | Reply with Quote
| | | I had an urbex dream MONTHS back, which I'm posting now because I don't often have dreams I remember, much less ones that are coherent, at least that I can remember. I am saying this here because I know some dreams can lead to deja vu, and maybe I dreamed up a location that actually exists. Anyways, we were in a city type area. The location in question is a church, which prior to being abandoned had been converted into a large, fanciful home. The area around where the confession booth was had been converted into a bracket shaped bar, on a 45* angle near the entry. There was still many bottles there, I think even one of those candy machines that worked on quarters. The pews were still there, and the place where prayers were said was fully in tact (Not religious, so I don't know all the names, sorry!) I think the organ was oddly in place across from the entry door. Either that, or it was a relocated confession box. Anyways, to the left of the entry door was a typical door frame, behind which was a hallway. The first door on the right was a living room type area, with a dusty old TV (90's or so?) and a sofa, a shelf or so atop it, and perhaps books or stuffed toys? For reference; From the central area; Sadly that's all I can remember. Other than that the church was made of stone I believe? generally grey in color. Not sure why this dream sticks out. Anyone have anything similar? (Weird topic, but hey.)

| | | I always have exploring dreams, usually at industrial type locations. Most times, everyone i know, both explorers and non-explorers are there, and the dreams are always super vivid. Also, they sometimes include zombies or enemies of sorts, attacking us for whatever reason. I think i smoke too much.

| | | I've only had one exploring dream so far. In it I was climbing a construction crane (which I've never done before in reality) with someone who seemed like a good friend in the dream, but was not someone I know in real life. We made it to the top, and my partner went to sit down on a railing or something like that. Somehow he missed the railing and slipped right over the side, not even screaming as he plummeted to the ground. I remember looking over the side but being unable to see where he had landed, somehow idiotically thinking "Maybe he's OK..." Then I woke up. I've decided to put off climbing cranes for a while, and if I ever do, I'll probably go alone for the first time. I'm not really one of those people who believes their dreams are prophetic, but this one was really vivid and kind of spooked me out.

| | | I've only had one urbex-themed dream, but it was recurring and out of fear. Last April, my friends and I were exploring an abandoned mall. It was well kept up, had only one (avoidable) alarm, and was generally pretty massive. There was always the threat of accidentally running into security, but we knew when they showed up for the day, so for quite a few hours it was literally just us. But near the end, we unexpectedly walked into his patrol station in what used to be a former store. I freaked the fuck out and our group was torn on staying and hiding out, or leaving. Things ended up fine for us, but at least twice a month for three months, I'd have a reoccurring dream of feeling tense, paranoid and petrified of running into the security guard. It was so weird. It played like a fucking record, because from start to finish, each dream was the exact same in every aspect.

| | | Okay, sorry about the resurrection, but I had another dream, I don't recall when, probably a month or two back, but i remember it somewhat vividly. So,me and a couple friends, don't know who exactly, maybe people i've went with before, went into an abandoned version of a pump station, you know, big municipal ones? Steam powered or something. Anyways, the thing is, I remember quite a bit... First, we got in, to our left, in the main room was almost nothing but a catwalk on the opposite side of the room, a little further in to our right, was a door that lead to a sort of half-basement area which was somewhat small but had some valves or something. Figuring we'd fuck around as you might expect, we'd turn some valves for fun.... but that's where everything went wrong. See, at that point the machines somehow started back up down in that area, and you have to remember that this place was DARK. Now i don't recall exactly what happened, but i think most of us ran out, but one guy left down there didn't show. we went back and the place was flooded with this, dirty ass water. We knew it would either flood completely, or poison everyone's water, so we debated on going back to turn it off. I, and i think someone else ran in to look for the guy. I don't think we found him, but something, monster or something, was preventing me from turning the valve off, or it was so deep underwater by that point it would have to be swam to, and from then on it was difficult. I don't recall exactly how the dream ended, but i think we never saw the guy that went missing, however we did manage to shut down the pump station.
so let that be a lesson to you all! Check for gauges, and if they're at all pressurized, DON'T TOUCH THEM!
