I was actually discussing this with someone who's been there, before I joined UER. He's the person who actually originally told me about UER. =D He said he found access to the flooded tunnels...and...that they're flooded. Completely. There was some discussion between us about rigging an anchor point and lowering in a person and scuba gear. Sounds like you wouldn't be able to enter the small entry hole he found with scuba gear already donned (worn). So unless you're familiar with cave/wreck diving, I'd suggest against it. You basically have to enter the water with a smaller bottle at your side, or pulled in after you or before; then have your main gear lowered in and put it on while underwater. With practice, this isn't a difficult task. But a fully submerged tunnel system (IE: Overhead environment) is the wrong place to learn these skills. His pictures of the place are fantastic though. If you look around UER long enough you'll find them. I'd love to put together a dive there but it's like 1200 miles away. Maybe some day.

| | | I know a government employee who works in the "flooded" tunnels. They use rebreathers to gain access the dry part of the tunnel where they do their work. Is your friend who knows how to get in from Maypearl?

| | | Cool! That's the first recent story I've seen about the SSC.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

| | | Wow, that looks very similar to my old website. The post I made about the SSC Had the exact same "Then" pictures and very similar "Now" pictures. They did get further in than I did however.

| | | Myself and the Mrs were just there on the 13th of this month. We went into the Linear Accelerator portion with permission from one of the owners or employee that works there. We did also go to the mag lab but there was a FJ Cruiser parked off Perimeter Rd. Unfortunately we didn't go in this go around.
