This is in Waxahachie and I want to add this to my collection worse than anything. Has anyone been there or does anyone have any info on it. I'm wondering about security measures mostly.

Well, there are multiple threads about this kind of thing if you go way back in the archives. There is I think a Sheriff's station right across the road. The tunnels are apparently flooded. Who knows, if you get into a dry tunnel, let us know. Good Luck

You have to asks the Sheriff's station to turn on the pumps if you want to go down there.

Yeah.. most recent things I have read/heard are to not even try.. unless you can find a way into a flooded tunnel.. then drop a raft in there.. -__-

the magnet lab and the linear accelerator between Maypearl and Waxahachie are the only two pieces I know of that are left, the magnet lab used to have a shaft that went down to the tunnels but that's been filled in and now its just a 20 foot pit with concrete at the bottom. The linear accelerator could still have access to the tunnels but nobody knows since the basement is under water, so even if you could get in you would need scuba gear. East campus Road west of Palmer was also constructed during the time of the SSC, I don't know if the tunnels ever made it that far but they would have been right below it. No structures remain out there just a few concrete slabs are all that's left

but as far as security goes there is none, the linear accelerator is for sale the magnet lab is a cool building to explore, it is across from the po-po but they never pay attention

Don't ask us what's there, make plans to find out. Scuba certs are cheap these days, and cave diving seems to be fun and healthy. Just do the first few trips with a guide so you don't kill yourself doing something boring.

Alright I suppose I had this coming. Sounds like there is a building or 2 left to check out but the tunnels are not going to work. Good to hear that the security is probably not going to be an issue. When I get to the Magnet Lab I'll get some pics and I'll proceed from there to see if there is anything else I might be able to get into.

I asplored the tunnel system once. Wasn't much fun....place was overrun with Chilean miners.

Here's a picture of me being lowered into the tunnels by Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs, Tuesdays, 9 PM EST on the Discovery Channel.

The movies The Cave, The Descent, The Descent 2, and 2 of the 3 Lord of the Rings movies were filmed entirely inside the tunnels of the Supercollapsing Funnelcake Collider.

There is a local kid about 30yrs old now, hes often seen sitting around in front of the stores in downtown Maypearl. Hes a little touched. Like in, touched by the great spirit and whatnot.

Word is he knows the way in and even got in once but went stark ravin mad because of it and couldnt find his way out fer 3 days. Yep. But when you ask him about it he gets all jicky and kinda unstable and then runs off.

We gonna foller him someday. Jis't see where he goes. Noah Vale met him once too. You think Im lyin dont ya?

I drove into the parking lot once and my car did something funny... Like it died or something. And THAT is a true story.
