calling someone a troll doesnt help this conversation, nor does it seem to seperate yourself from the exact label you are trying to place.

i'm not trying to make ya mad, dave, just stating what i have learned to be true in the course of doing what i do

what's the misinformation? that a drift car is set up to handle excessive speeds sideways? you dont set your drift car up to lose traction, you set it up to handle. you force it to break traction and keep it there. i know bc not only am i builder, but also a driver. c'mon, man. haven't you been around these cars takng pictures?

You should know that stretched tires in drifting are for breaking traction sooner because theres no sidewall flex. Either you are saying the same thing that im saying in a different way, or you are giving bad information.

Nismo is really irritating, because all he brings to the table is immature posts. He cant talk about anything performance because all he does is change oil and sweep floors in shop that probably does nothing but wheels and tires.

i suppose it would depend on the tire and the driver's preference. i preferred a sticky tire with a fair amount of stretch. breaking traction was handled with driving technique, not with tire choice. tire choice, for me, was based upon performance while already sliding. i can get any car to break traction, but it takes a proper setup to keep it there. i really didnt like the feel of my car with unstretched sides (for lack of a better term) once going at speed.

my last car ran 17x10s on all four corners with 225's up front and 245's out back making 350whp. i tried several different setups, but prefered a grippy 245 over a mediocre 255. running a wider grippy tire caused too much push and understeer for my liking

understeer... the bane of FWD.
The Cobalt is pretty resistant to understeer, but at the limit, it's hell trying to recover it (usually because you're going fast enough to really lose your shit).
i haven't had a rwd car in so long, i doubt I would know how to drive it.
