| | | Haha, yes! Yes, serene is a good word for that. It's one of my favorite explores. I could have spend hours there just hanging out solo. I got caught in a rain storm and waited it out in one of those buildings. It was great.

| | | Haha, Zeph! Coincidentally I took similar shots last evening while doing some scouting. I almost crapped my pants when I saw CSX engine 2572 in your shot. I just started taking notes on what engines I see when/where. I thought I saw that same one last night, but after looking at my notes, it was instead CSX 2577 (along with 2536, 6970, 1534, and 6930).
This is the first time I've put the image stabilization on my lens to the test. It's shot at 1/1.3 (.77 sec) exposure, 200 ISO, handheld while leaning against my car. I'm quite impressed with that. (the technology, not my shot)

| | | That's very sharp for a hand held shot with an exposure that long, even with an image stabilizer. I didn't know stabilizers could work that well. You must have had the camera pretty steady too tho. I took a quick look thru some of my other train shots and I didn't see any of engines you mentioned.

| | | Hey all, Just wanted to pop in and say first off, a LOT of excellent photos in this thread. It has been a pleasure to read/view it. I'm not active on this board, because the Utah crew decided to make a little more private board we use, so I abandoned this site shortly after joining (hence no full member status). Why the hell am I here then? Work. I am coming back to Rochester the week of the 22nd for training, and as always this is a great place to scout ideas for UE Photo trips. "Oh great, another l0ser looking for handouts of sites"... No, actually I am one of the, what I like to call, "True Explorers". I think half the fun on exploring is finding the places. So, no I hate to burst your bubble, but I won't be asking for handouts. So, just a hello from Utah, and I'll post at least one from Rochester on here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/retoxx
