Was driving around Rochester and came across this abandoned marina. Was looking around taking pictures when the state DOT truck pulled up, they got out and started taking pictures of the nearby bridge while the other made a phone call. I left before they did anything else, but did get a few interior shots. The marina went out of business, and has been left abandoned, it maybe redeveloped but its future is unclear at the moment.

Biking to Plattsburg? maybe; walking on the 390? Why would I ever do that? Especially when right next to the highway full of 70mph traffic, there is a footbridge?

I was referring to the river.

Posted by bfinan0 in his "Since everyone seems to be bragging about all the awesome places they went..." thread

Even I know better than to CROSS a river of that magnitude in a dubious state of frozenness, but it would have extended the shoreline out a bit in that one spot.

...and yes, I realize you've said you knew better.
It's almost as if you've never had your balls busted before.

Facetious? Really?
I certainly didn't intend to come across that way. Lighthearted maybe.
I guess I didn't realize you take bridge photos so seriously.

No...I was being facetious; and I absolutely don't take bridge photos seriously, only falling into frozen rivers and being made into a blunt ballistic projectile by speeding trucks. (and getting caught, in either situation).

Where did you take this? The valley of the Jolly Green Giant? (and isn't that in Minnesota?)

couldn't explore further since it was in a town on a heavily traveled street.

Meat processing plant. Didn't look too interesting on the inside.

Found this on a mini vacation, it is visible from a major road right behind a bank.

Also explored this amphitheater. not abandoned, but certainly not used in winter, was cool to explore the catwalks and whatnot.
