Visiting Thompson Springs

Today we drove out of Colorado into Utah. We traveled on a long stretch of deserted highway and a longer stretch of gravel road. Upon reaching "civilization" we stopped at a Visitors Center. Some crazy dude sitting in a truck in the parking lot called me over and started a conversation with me. He supposedly worked at the visitors center and suggested that we take a short detour to Thompson Canyon to see the native american petroglyphs on the cliff walls. We were a little apprehensive about the side trip as it seemed like something out of a bad B movie horror picture. It was worth it though. The town of Thompson Springs is a ghost town and the petroglyphs are fascinating. We had a lot of fun poking around.
