The poor Mcnaughton cottage; The only building here dating back to the 1840's; why? Because the heirs to the original mine kept this house in the family, even through the sportsmen club era. Now? I don't know. Someone should stabilize the place; Ted Roosevelt stayed here! My next summer project is to restore the cemetery, which will probably get me in trouble with encon or the rangers as I'll have to cut some major blowdown, but it's worth it, (if I can find it).

I need to locate it first; but I think it would be a great project. Thanks for the offer!

You probably know, but the part of the cottage to the right was once the town bank-- Older structure then the rest of the cottage. Ceiling caved in last fall-- too bad. The "State" keeps talking of turning this into a national preservation area-- they better act fast or nothing will be left
