I really enjoyed this posting! The architecture and ornate woodwork of the building was a refreshing look at Thailand's structures! Oh, and those rusty boats were cool...

Hey Chia, I'm in Finland... :(

(+ I never went to the Northern Thailand. Took a train to Nong Khai and went over the border to Laos, and came back to Thailand from Cambodia in the Southeasternmost point of Thailand.)

Great gallery, it's funny that they wastefully built it and it never opened. The biggest example of something that never opened is the Ryugong (sp) Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea. Look that one up sometime.

Well, apparently they didn't foresee that The Golden Triangle would not become a tourist attraction. That happens every now and then around the world.

Yeah, I heard about that hotel in North Korea, did you know it has 150 floors and 3000 rooms just like the Ministry of Truth in 1984 and both are pyramid shaped? Kinda creepy huh? Largest abandoned building in the world.

Ryugyong Hotel you're right but it's only 107 stories tall.
