To be precise, that's a memeograph machine. I remember using them back in the day; you'd type up a stencil using a typewriter, and the wrap the stencil around the drum, make sure it had plenty of ink, and turn it on... or turn the crank.

when i was a kid, mimeograph ink was the first 'inhalant' a child knows... it would seriously wreck you when fresh. ah those were the days before copying machines...

i also while standing at the teachers desk use my fingernail to scratch dirty words in the spirit masters, so the next batch of stencils she handed out would be loaded with profanity and of course some other kid would get blamed

yeah and they had this funky machine next to it, shove a blank spirit master in with a photocopy and poof instant stencil i remember photocopies were a very guarded commodity back then
