  The columns are made of rail as well- there is a gas station up here in Salem, MA, tha did that with rail from an abutting abandoned right-of-way.

  After driving by here personally, I find it incredible how much rail they salvaged to make 7 miles worth of guardrail. In some of the off limits sections, the rails are almost completely rotted away, it's pretty crazy.

  3 feet of rail weighs 100 lbs. Do the math......
