  Nice. I look at a pic of lock 1 that I took a couple years ago, and compare it to this one and it's like night & day. But why does that boat have the flag of Yemen?

  The caption (also) says "The Dutch flag in foreground flies from the stern of a Fjell-Oranje Lines cargo ship". I've got the whole article scanned over here. PM me if you want a copy.

  even the landlocked lakers sometimes fly flags of convienience. the windoc once fley the flag of indonesia, the windoc after its conversion was unable to leave the lakes due to its structure so its funny it coulndt ever go to its home port

  well the seaway locks are as tight, the seaway was obsolete a few years after it was built, now the "seaway max" ships have been allowed, they bring the boat in and then inch it forward and even remove the gate fender
