actually they did salvage the stairs hand rail and lots of stuff. There was a big auction April 22 and lots of ppl bought all sort of stuff. I now am the proud owner of the 1953's old bedroom commode bought for a ridiculus $35. :) that's my small part to keep the memory of the place alive

I should have said a 1853's commode and not THE commode but one of the 30-some that were auctionned off... sorry. I was and still I tired... can't read properly.

Love the old staircase and rails/posts/balusters. I've very nearby the location many times (Lobster Fest not far or the annual Acadia Day) but I was never inside of the hotel. The last time I was there the building was still being cleared of squatters and was closed off. Thanks for the interior photos :)
