yep. they got their permit for demolition last night (Oct. 21) after a 5h meeting! But a "Save Shediac Hotel" group might appeal the permit to demolish, winning at least 6 months more... we'll see.

the group did put an appeal, which would give 6 months more to the hotel but there are discussing about dropping the appeal =(

actually, they drop the appeal. the place will be demolish pretty soon (we're talking days here) and they will be a 1,2 million dollars community center on the same location (ironic, is'nt it?!?!?!)

Sad. Reminds me of an old CPR classic in Penticton, BC, I used to visit for long weekends of debauchery. Cant remember if it was called the Penticton Inn or what, but the bar was known everywhere as The Incola!

Thank you so much for posting these pictures! I lived near Shediac until a few years ago as a kid whenever we drove by I was fascinated by the building and always wanted to visit it. I was so sad and angry when it was demolished but being a kid there was nothing I could do. These pictures bring back great memories.
