Original Cumberland Road (now only a trail from George Derby to the freeway) was once a bustling intersection. It was possible to drive right to the lake's edge, once you looked both ways to cross the interurban tracks. (The freeway follows the train right-of-way exactly at this point) The intersection of Cumberland and Richmond was home to the nearest station.
