this reminds me of the buildings atop the tailings piles here in moriah... they are the same way; metal ripped right off the structure, really falling apart... nice series of pictures. They really put it into a perspective you can use.

How could a ship have possible impacted the silos so high up?

You do realize how big these ships are right? If you do I can explain it a little better.. Anyways the grain elevator used to have three seperate structures that were on railways to suck the grain out of ship cargo compartments.. Anyways if it gets rough in there which doesn't happen to often the ships bounce up and down and I beleive as they were sucking grain out of them the ship slammed up against it and the structures were jabbed into the top part..

I know how large a great lakes freighter is and I know how high up on the silos the damage is (I was in Pt. McNicoll yesterday) ahhhh, this isn't important, yeah, a ship could have caused that damage.

It's clearly damage caused by corrosion, age, and weather.

Maybe, but I clearly rememeber that there was a bad storm one night and that one of the ships hit the grainery.
