I thought Taco Bell was pretty much the only place that served Pepsi. I think you're right.

after the mcdonalds folded, they tried to have a restaurant there, because it is right off the interstate... it failed as well.

FYI Bizzybear it's not just "Taco Bell" per se it's all the Tricon Restaurants (incl. KFC & Long John Silver). But yeah, no one seems to prefer Pepsi for mass-marketed food. I wonder why? My school (Rensselaer Polytech) has an agreement to use Pepsi, but I think it's only because the Alcoa bottling plant is nearby, potentially making it easier to deliver mass quantities of carbonated sugar water for the masses.

It's all about franchised stores vs non-franchised and national contracts. If you OWN your McD's, you can serve Pepsi, but it takes a mountain of paperwork and you will never get your foodcost low enough to survive because Coke will always be cheaper than Pepsi to ANY McD's, no matter the owner.
I work for a huge, French management company that has sucontracted out a TriCon brand (pizza hut), but our campus/company contracts require us to sell Coke at this Pizza Hut.
Sorry...that was really boring.
