that's just it... before 1966, there was only one route from Albany to the Quebec border... US Route 9. There were motels everywhere... When the Northway opened in 66-67, many of the little towns along US 9 just died. North Hudson was one of them.

My grandfather remembers even before '66, North Hudson was still kind of sketchy...it was the kind of place you would stop to get gas, but didn't trust using your Mobil card...
