Pie-IX et Morgan étaient les deux grands "boulevards prestigieux" de la défunte Cité de Maisonneuve. D'ailleurs, au coin Morgan et Ste-Catherine, on retrouve un ancien Steinberg (maintenant Métro) arborant une mosaique de l'artiste Georges Iliu considérée comme la première oeuvre d'art public abstrait au Canada. Cette oeuvre a été restorée pendant une rénovation récente de l'immeuble après avoir passée plusieurs années cachée derrière l'ancien revêtement.
