those aren't rollers... those are dryer cans. How it works is like this... your pulp comes out of a headbox (basically a big spout more or less) and that blows the pulp out on to the fourdenier (sp?) wire where the vibration of the wire aligns your fibers in the pulp so they are uniform... from there, the pulp hits the first dryer section... these cans are heated to about 300 or so degrees F through the use of steam... the paper is dried and then hits the starch press where your paper gets 'hardened'... after that it hits another dryer section and then into the calendar stack where the paper is formed (thickness) and then on to the reel winder.
