This does not look like a good place for houses. The cliffs look like they are eroding.

The whole peninsula of Palos Verdes is slowly slipping into the ocean. In a few million years, it'll be totally washed away. There's one main road they have to repair constantly because of this slow, slow slippage.

DLNorton speaks the truth. The whole coastline sits on a layer of compressed volcanic ash called 'bentonite.' When it gets wet, it shifts like ball bearings and anything on top slides. Only 1 of the 3 main pipes from the ocean were working in 1986 because of this shifting.

Does anyone know of the trail that was right before marineland? we would stop and use the potty there and sometimes hike down. I could not find it? where did it go?

Nobody said the lighthouse was a house. They were speaking about the Marineland grounds and building plans.
