They honeycomb thing looks like the turbine's air intake. A gas turbine inhales so much air that "normal" air cleaners can't be used. This might be a centrifugal air cleaner - each round opening has tiny swirlers that cause the air to spin and thus throw the contaminants to the outside of the tube where they are removed.

we use the same idea for our water filters in the paper mill i work at..
