Not sure what it is but it looks like some kind of pressure plate or clutch. This was sitting ontop of a massive concrete that held many blades and fans. Our guess is raw woodchips or wood dust would be mixed with adhesive inside the chamber.

nope... not a clutch. This is a screen/seperator for woodchips. We have several of these in the machine room of the place I work. I've had to clean all the shit out of the vanes before... it took me an hour to do just one out of 8.
