Could this have been the morgue? This was near the cafeteria, but it could have been converted in the sixties when it was no longer a TB hospital. There was a large door just to the left of here, and a thermometer, so this little room clearly was refridgerated. Right near the loading dock, also.

But this is directly in the kitchen. Right next to stirring vats. I doubt it was a morgue. Most of the thermometers in the kitchen are labeled, like "Vegetable Room"

Yeah, the place was probably remodled to some extent when it became the second hospital.

Exactly what I was thinking, before they converted the hospital in the 60's this probably wasn't the cafeteria. After that they probably needed the freezer for other things.

You're probably right. Its wood that is too nice to be used for just any old purpose.
