3 years later, florida door still on my mind!?
< on 7/21/2007 4:16 AM >

I was browsing digg tonight and ran across this:

Missile found in Florida junk yard:
http://www.metro.c...57926&in_page_id=2

SOMEHOW, I remembered a topic on UER that I was obsessed with in 2004. I hope some people remember it.

Anyways, I kinda fell off the forums during that time and never got to find out what was actually behind that door.

I thought for sure I would be able to find some documentation about it somewhere online as they said they would film it and stuff. I have been searching for a while and found nothing!

This is the most frustrating thing ever, a 3 year old mystery brought back to life!!!

I used to be on these forums under "PhreeX" but since lost my password..... so I re-regged with this name...

I remember the "door" well, and have some pictures of what cane be seen by looking through the space that is open.... there was a plan for me to come down with my cutting torch, un-seal it, explore the pit and it's contents,. and then yes, on the way out I would have used some heavy welding rod to re-seal the entrance after all the photos were taken....

Amazing, I vanish from this forum for like 4 years, return and the first thread I see is about this...

Well the question begs to be asked, what happened to this plan?

Yea, I really don't want to see anyone "torch" an opening. Because I really doubt anyone will take the time to properly weld it closed again.

Yeah, I remember there was all this hype to get down in the "door" and make a big production out of it. IIRC, nobody ever did such a plan.

Shame too, it'd be pretty nifty to see pics!

youre person #93485093868824093284 to say they are going to bring cutting torches. nobody ever does. ill believe it when i see it. chances are even if you make a hole, youll still have to rappel.

If you can find the original thread when the site was found we had started talking about getting in ... that, in turn, spawned a new thread (be me using my previous user name - "Phreex" - about the ethics ... as I recall there were only some strips holding the door in the floor closed ... it was agreed that as long as it was sealed back up it would be fine, but as at the time I was without transportation from Orlando I was waiting for someone to want to make the trip and pick me up... also, the site you could park was, if I recall, about a mile from the building with the item in question and bikes were the best way, so I would have had to bring my mini-torch (oxy/acetylene, but I would probably have to bring extra tanks) .. in all it would have meant about 50 pounds of gear for this ... I am skilled in metal work so I know what I am doing...

I KNOW someone (whoever it was that found it and posted the private pictures of what they could see through the opening in the floor, the name "Shane" sounds familiar but this was years back) will recall the original thread when the discovery was first posted....

But hey ,this is the interweb so OF COURSE everything someone says must be doubted and they must be raked across the coals ..

I say lets do it ... I will drive down there with the cutting gear and welding rod, and then probably have to carry it on foot from the area where you can park ...
