I drove by that landfill every day on the way to school and never thought about exploring it! Damn! Well if your in that area and have some balls there are still some really cool things to see at El Toro Marine Base. They have torn down 3 of the hangers as of the last time I checked but all the warehouses and bunkers remain. Just act like you were trying to find the giant balloon and got lost. You can park at the food bank without any problems.

I wish I could join you guys...summer couldn't come soon enough!

Hey Jared, long time no see!

Well, is anyone gonna set a date!? I'm game for this Saturday evening if anyone wants to play?

There's a building in HB I'd love to check out, and I've still never done Linda Vista. Who wants to play Special Forces with me? If we get caught, we'll get off easy - camera equipment and a military ID usually work well! ;)

I just found that two of the sites I found on my own are being torn down! The hotel I posted earlier in the thread is now no more...I really would have liked to take people to this one too...

woohoo i can finally post! ;)

I'm visiting from Austria until the 20th of this month and i'd looove to go exploring! I even wouldn't mind exploring "known" areas in search of unknowns. I'm stationed in Costa Mesa for the time being but i have a rental and i don't mind driving anywhere. I prefer late-night sessions (after 10) but otherwise i can do some days during the week.

Well, I'm headed to Ballona Creek sometime this month, on some weekend day...My POE is in Culver City and I'd be willing to take some people. I don't know if anyone around socal is down with draining?

Never been draining before but would love to get in with a crew who has (some) experience. Only prob is i'm not really equipped - i don't suppose you've got an extra pair of boots lying around? ;)

Would this be a day or night thing? If it's during the W/E i'm down for any night, even if it's last minute such as tonight or tomorrow.

I'm always up for draining or other exploring if you're looking for (or would tolerate) company. I've also got gear and rope I can provide for technical vertical stuff.

I'm in the same boat, being a "new girl" here I dont wanna set anything up. Also, i dont know where to go yet....

Don't trust her! She's trying to lead you astray!
She's looking for locations to hit up, but as soon as you make plans to go there she'll be like "oh, my fiance doesn't let me go places with other guys" at the last minute. Then she'll go later on her own.

Seriously though, it'd help if some of the SoCal girls would PM her.

Paranoid are we?

That's why someone sets up a meeting point e.g. some parking lot and everyone who shows up can then go together exploring. No?

Not a bad idea.

On the other hand, there's some good drains up in the Lancaster/Palmdale area (even though it's nowhere near OC), as well as a plethora of other locations to check out.

And on occasion we take mine exploring trips out to the surrounding deserts and forest areas.

There are several people who've posted back on here that I've been looking forward to 'sploring with for a while now. It'd be cool to set up some kind of a meet and everyone get together for a day.

Heh, don't worry, she's not actually snagging locations.

If you get the chance to explore with her though, take her up on it.

i am alittle turned off the exploring due to the negative attention I am receiving from some explorers. The frustrations I have due to my life being crazy, and the fact that some people take it personally makes me sad and at the same time kinda frustrated. sry to any one I have done this to. It wont happen again

Damn, I was just commenting on a post that was obviously made in humor without me realizing it.

I wouldn't give up on UE that quickly! It does seem prudent to go with more than one other member tho...

Werd. And when there is group trip after group trip, it's pretty normal that most of the people who say they're gonna come won't actually show up, over and over. Hell, some people start events on here just so they can *not* show up to them! =P lol

It's more annoying though when you're planning a group trip and bringing equipment and trying to organize something and then at the last minute you get a plethora of lousy excuses; then you end up on an abandoned bridge with a couple thousand bucks worth of rope gear and only one person bothered to actually show up. *shrugs*

That having been said though, it looks like there's a lot of folks on this thread who would make a nice gathering. Especially several that we've all been talking to eachother on here for a while now and just haven't met up yet.

It'd be fun just to meet up and even do some drain somewhere, just to hang out and get to know eachother.

I'll take some people to a drain in Culver city I've been to a couple of times...maybe later this month/early next month. Weekend nights work best for me but I'd do a weeknight if more people were interested in that. Its really easy access, low risk and full members can see it in the DB...

Looks like I might be down in Orange on Thurs afternoon - Friday night.

For a good bit of that time I'm gonna be hanging out with the person I'm going down there to see, but friday 4am to 3pm she's gotta work and I don't have anything planned. Possibly late thursday night as well.

I'ma be down near Palmyra Ave & Prospect St, in Orange.

Hit me up if you're nearby and you wanna chill.
