I've always wanted to make a drain periscope. Also you know the older cellphones with the screw off antenna. Always wanted to get one and screw out the antenna and put in a 2 foot wire so u can stick it through the hole. I'd call it a man-hole-a-ma-phone. As for manhole danger. Always lift and slide a manhole when opening from underneath. Never try to flip it. I tried to flip one of those dome lids once and I had it almost straight up with my head poking out, when it flipped and slid in on me, splitting my chin open and pinning me by the neck in a manhole shaft. What a pain in the ass.
