| | | Anyone who has been there at all will probably agree that it's quite depressing. In Bombay Beach for example, (where there's no beach) about one in four houses are abandoned. As you would expect, the history is much more interesting than the actual place. And I'm sure this is it's 1 millionth post. -do I get a prize? Here's a few random spots on or near 110. 1.

Also, if anyone happens to know anything about the spot in #9/10 I'd love to hear about it.

EDIT: Seriously, I've never nutted up and ate any of the fish but they fight like trout and are really fun to catch. [last edit 1/31/2010 7:25 AM by robk700 - edited 1 times]

LOL
smell wasn't bad, only in the southern areas. Thought it might have just been Mexico.

| | | I've always wanted to go to the Salton Sea. I tried to mae some non-UE friends take me there and they just couldn't understand my fascination with it at all. And yeah, I imagine the history is more interesting than the reality probably, but I still want to see it for myself. Great pics! Where'd the shot with all the dead fish in it come from? Is that yours too?

| | | How about Sunday the 14th? Edit: Valentines day. Opps. So how bout the 27th. Should nearly have a full moon. We can start it as a day trip and those that want to do a night can stick around later. [last edit 2/7/2010 5:52 AM by robk700 - edited 1 times]

| | | I really hate the Salton Stink. I know there's beauty in abandoned stuff, but there ain't no beauty in fish bones and rotting aroma. It's nice to see pics from you guys, but I have no desire to go back.

| | | thanks all. I must say that I was there only a few days after those mega-storms in January, which may likely be why the smell wasn't so bad.
