| | | im currently on unemployment ... if i had the money, id gladly make the trip, and i'll teach ya a thing or three about getting around security systems. oh, did i fail to mention i design, sell and install them ???
there's lots of ways to find out if there's an alarm. like suggested, just trip it ... and take off. if anyone shows up, u know it works. then keep doing it , til they permanently disable it.

| | | I've been to radionics school, years ago, done design and install for aerospace and museums. The risk VS reward thing ways pretty heavy on my mind. But good luck in future exploring, and I hope things work out in the job situation.

I used to work for ADT in Commercial design/sales out here in vegas. Ive done a few celeb houses out here. I could be wrong about santa barbara , but some counties in CA require a guard verifies the alarm before the cops can be called out. Or that the homeowner answers the phone and says there has been an attempted break in. Out here in vegas its that way, and like I said some counties in CA are like that. Just because there are SO MANY false alarms. Ill contact my girl on monday and have her run the address to see of there is an ADT alarm active or if there ever was one on the premises.

| | | I think our idea of freezing cold differs from the rest of the country. It's about 56 degrees and sunny outside right now. I'm wearing shorts and a hooded sweatshirt. I'm pretty sure people in Minnesota would not mind if it were 56 degrees and sunny.

Lucky bums...when *someone I know* went voices could be heard from two people near the house, so it was a no-go. Timing is everything, apparently! Oh and a nice old random light flickering on and off.

| | | A 5 minute "in and out" might actually be doable. The problem would be choppers of course, but would a chopper be deployed in 5 minutes? There will be security but I doubt the level of security that was present when Neverland had all the rides and equipment. I'm sure it's patrolled, don't get me wrong, but before the security was pretty deep. I'm sure you'd just have to do a little homework on how often the patrol goes by and time your entry accordingly making sure to make a very fast entrance and exit. It can be done. There's been a lot riskier things done on here. So as far as risk vs. reward. I think there's not as much risk as people think. I wouldn't underestimate security but on the other hand, if you know how often security patrols. If you know whether they are on site or off-site. If you know their average travel time to and from the base... Planning and recon is key. As I said, I've seen people take bigger risks than this before. Sneaking into active military bases and such to take a photo of a laser. I mean that's just crazy. This... this doesn't seem to be that huge of a task. A trip or two to scope things out and then a final "go" trip. If security is really lax, the first trip might be the "go" trip. P.S., if the residence is truly empty (no furniture or belongings), then I seriously doubt they're going to deploy choppers to search the surrounding forest. When it was occupied, sure. But if there's no real burglary being attempted (just B&E), then I don't think they're going to call out the national guard. [last edit 1/31/2009 6:58 PM by SirJinx - edited 1 times]

| | | Trust me. Some of us have been out there multiple times, and the worse we encountered was a bit of a chilly wind. They won't deploy blackhawks or come out with the Fuzz. I highly doubt it. The place may be watched now, but it was a ghost town for a loooong time. IMHO it's not worth it w/out the rides.

Okay and how about someone telling us that it was "a couple of cow fields" lol...where I come from cow fields are FLAT! So yes, coldness but I would say the hike/climb is killer. The scariest encountered will either be a drive through by a guard or a cow. With everything gone there are less places to hide, but as you won't be taking many pictures in the ride area now anyway, big deal. I say go for it, but the fun is pretty much over with since everything is gone...unless you are brave enough to go to the station or into some buildings.

That auction was a few months ago, I believe. In fact, Jackson himself called the auction off, because - it seems - he had a bit of a bout of nostalgia hit him. I think it was incredibly smart of him to make that move. Now all of the pieces of his museum are in one place and easily returnable to the grounds of Neverland, should it become a museum of sorts as the MSM has speculated.
