| | I'm looking to do some exploring in Central Florida. Ideas? < on 4/30/2008 12:21 AM >
| | | I don't have access to the locations, yet. I've been interested in urban exploring for a while, and I have the time and motivation to do this now. Can anyone supply me with some decent locations in Central Florida -- preferably near Orlando? I'll take a look at them, take a bunch of pictures, document everything. I can't wait. SWF

| | | Nah, I don't think there's anything in that area. You should probably stay home and play solitaire.

| | | There are quite a few things in the central Fl area to explore and if you do the research or look with open eyes you can find them. no one will give you hand outs though and there is many reasons for that. But there are tons of things for a new explorer to enjoy. Happy hunting.

Edit - its not in boca, its del ray beach. [last edit 5/5/2008 9:42 PM by don cornelius - edited 1 times]

| | | Well, in the spirit of not being an asshole, here you go: Splendid China in Kissimmee. Up until about '95 it was a theme park run by the Chinese Government here in Florida. It features scale models of the "wonders of China." This includes the Great Wall, Stone Forest, Palaces etc. etc. Most of the models have been destroyed. The more durable still stand, as well as all the buildings. The place is littered with little things to loot, too. Abandoned Navy Training Barracks in the dead center of the Baldwin Park residential area. It looms up like a hotel around all the one-story homes, but is entirely unoccupied. You have to climb and elevator shaft to get off the first floor though, as all the stairs are barred on the bottom level. Then, get to the roof for an amazing panorama view of Central Florida. By the way, traveling up the shaft and through the other 7ish levels was the scariest thing I have ever done. Mostly because of what looks like blood on the floors and on some of the paneling partitions. To be successful with this one take only yourself or a small group, never let the elevator doors shut behind you and don't shine flashlights on the windows when inside. That stands out like a beacon to all the neighborhood watch folks and police cars that regularly patrol the area. Have fun, bro.

| | | I just want an answer to this question. Why do people continue to post here for ideas of places to explore? Are they bored? Do they want something to talk about? WTF! Look around, open your eyes!!!! edit- ok, I'm done. That was my rant for the day. I'm going to find some new places this weekend. All. By. Myself.
