...are officially online:

http://wang.phlanx.net/maps/

I have grand designs for some day building a proper web site around the collection, but for now it's simply 259 image files plus this file list for a total size of 3.19 GB.

If you have any maps you'd like to add to the collection, please send me a PM.

Big, big, props go to dozey for graciously donating the server space. What a good egg.

Enjoy.

Works fine for me.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

Works fine for me.

Thanks. That's a relief.

I'm working on putting together an index page that shows the full file names and organizes the maps into geographic categories. Hopefully I'll have it up later today.

Yeah it's because I couldn't access it through the proxy where I am. I used this:

http://enzian.gebi...roxy/nph-proxy.cgi

then went to your site.

That works.

There goes all my precious free time looking at maps and hypothesizing over old locations.

Great work EW, thanks for sharing!

Hah! Who knew there were so many map geeks here? Thanks for the positive feedback, guys.

I added an alphabetical index page, so you can now see the entire filenames and do ctrl-Fs on them. That should improve your browsing experience a bit.

I'm working on another index page that'll categorize the maps, making it even easier to find whatever interests you. Hopefully I'll have it up before I crash tonight.

Of course I'd appreciate a PM if anyone finds any broken or mixed-up links.

I have drawings but not much map, I browse your map and if I have some you don't I'll PM you.

I'd love to see those drawings but I want to keep the site map-oriented, for the time being at least.

Eventually I'll add a feature that lets people upload their maps directly to the server, but for now, yeah, please send me a PM if you've got something I don't and want to add it to the collection. More maps always = more good.

And again, a big, big tip of the hat dozey's way for hosting the collection. Thank you.

I have a huge box full of road maps from the United States from the 1930s to the present. I would like to scan some in ( and attempted a long time ago ), but they are such a pain in the ass.
