|  | | | Ok everyone, im sure that everyone has seen one of these threads, but i haven't. i am curious.......What age did everyone start exploring, and where was it? what was it like?
I started when i was nine. i would take a walk around the block when i got mad at my parents. Down the street from the house was a huge 2 1/2 story house that everyone in my neighborhood called the ghost house. the families that would live there never stayed for more than 3 or 4 months. all the kids were scared to go there so i decided to go in and look for ghosts. lucky for me, the house wasnt too hard to get into. found a hobo there. and a box full of old hustlers and swanks. the water heater looked like it had exploded. and the attic was full of pigeons and their not so fresh dead siblings. altogether kinda creepy considering i was nine

| | | | I don't recall what age.. probably around 10. Locations near my house include a granary with large silos, several tobacco warehouses, and an abandoned textile mill. Probably why I am so interested in textile mills today.

| | | | My first official time was right after i turned 17. The location: the now mostly demolished Haverford State Hospital. It was a public "walkthrough" that the township held to "envision the future" of the property. Even though security was around, my buddy and i still managed to find the morgue in the Hilltop building quickly, and enjoyed walking around the grounds without worry. I met some amazing people that day, and the ride hasn't stopped since.

| | | | I remember exploring as far back as 8 years old. There was a large 3 story apartment behind my house that had been torched. I still remember walking on the crunchy, blackened floorboards...still remember the beating I got from my mom when she smelled the smoke on my cloths too!

| | | | My first time exploring would have been when I was about nine or ten, we had a boatshed and next door to ours there was one with a busted down door, it had been like this for a couple of months when me and my sister decided to explore it, turns out there was a homeless dude living there and it freaked us right out.
There was also an old theme park down the road from our boatshed (a very small one, with a small race track, a small pool for bumperboats, a mini golf course and a small building for storage) that we explored a bit, mostly to race out bikes on the go cart track.

Anyways, I got into Urban Exploring a couple of years ago, when I was fourteen. I explored the deer paths through the forest around my house before then (since it takes a lot of effort to get to an actual structure on foot from my house).
