|  | | | Splendid China, a theme park owned and operated by the CHinese Government that was a minerature version of the Chinese empire that included the GReat wall and many Chinese artifacts, shut down in December 2004. The park operated out of Kissimmee ,FL right outside of Orlando. Me and some of my buddies went to do some exploring of the old park in December of 2005. We made it all the way into the park only to find active security in the area. However, we believe that security may be discontinued because the park was recently bought for redevelopment in May. We figure nobody would secure an area that was going to be demolished anyway. Has anyone toured or heard anything about this massive theme park? The placed seemed like a complete treasure trove to Urban Exploring and I would hate for that to go to waste when they demolish it.

The place has not been torn down yet and I urge anyone who has any interest in seeing this place , go now because it wont be here for long. As far as I know there is no security, and access is easy. The place is a real treasure trove for anyone interested. I have been on many adventures, but this far surpasses any other that I have been on. This is a real treat. I will post my pictures soon. I urge anyone within the area to visit before they demolish it.

We found a bunch of Chinese government documents in some of the file drawers in the accounting office. unfortunately none of us can read Chinese. We also found a note about some Chinese dancers trying to escape the place before they were shipped back to China; interesting stuff.

Also, you've all been saying that it's an easily accessible location, but please specify if you don't mind. Is fence-climbing involved? Running, other physical activity? PM me if you're not comfortable giving such information publicly, but I ask because I'm mildly disabled. Easy for you might not be easy for me. I'd hate to get there with a bunch of you and realize I can't do it.

I actually like going there during the day, there is no fence climbing or anything involved, we just have to walk through some tall grass (so the cars on the road dont see us) into the main parking lot and we are at the entery point of the park near the theater , like I said everytime ive gone its been during the day, since its outdoors its way better to see everything, and its not like anyone is going to see you, as far as I could tell there is no more security there either. let me know when you guys wanna do this, if I can get my friend to go also and if its at a time im not working id love to go, I wanted to go check it out one last time anyways. peace.

And Loki, if you need any help getting over anything, I'm sure we can help.
Where should we meet? I'd personally rather gather at a restaurant and grab some food before we head in. That gives us all a chance to get to know each other better, and then we could carpool to the site so we don't have 5 cars sitting conspicuously near an abandonment.
There's a TGI Friday's close. There's also a Chinese restaurant close, you know, for the full-on effect :p. Any of those places seem like a good place to meet up ahead of time. Maybe around 4?
