| | | Yeah so in another topic in here there was the mentioning of Alabama forums. Do these exist for every state and if they do can someone add me to the Florida forums? Thanks

| | | Florida seems to be pretty quiet around these parts. (former Tampan)

| | | I've been thinking of putting one up, but debating whether to put one here or to have a complete other website where there'd be a little more control over who sees what.

| | | That would be very cool. We need to get a florida group together sometime. I would be interested in forming a small group and exploring something. I am fairly new to all of this so tagging along would be nice !

| | | I was just talking to a guy via PM and we were talking about meeting up. We should get the Tampa Bay guys together and explorer something. On another note, did anyone else hear about the possible demo of the Maas Bros building?

| | | The developers who bought the Mass block for $14million (if i read the property sales papers right) basically state that demolition is the only feasible course for the building. If you walk by the building you will know what they mean...you can smell the rot in that place. The city building inspectors refuse or at least are extremely hesitant to even enter the building since it's in such bad shape.... being able to see through floors apparently unnerves them a bit. There is hope to save the facade though, at least on the south side that used to be the very old theater. I believe the developer is still attempting to get plans approved, same as the Kress building. As in, the city doesn't think two additional 40 story condo towers would be so hot of an idea.

| | | Anyone been inside it? I was down there a few weeks back and noticed a couple possible entrances. I also got a gyro at this greek place on the same block that was excellent, it will be too bad if he loses his little shop.

| | | Keep me updated on any possible get-together, if you're willing; I'm only an hour away from Tampa, and I'm sure it'd be well worth the trip.

| | | Well lets do it then. I am definitely down for going but I do not have the locations in order to organize such an event. We just need a knowledgable person to step forward and take the reigns.

| | | Yeah--That's really the thing, since I'm a newbie--even though i've read up on a hell of a lot of the community, and i've been eyeing spots for years, I haven't really done any OFFICIAL UE....And Florida ain't exactly Detroit or Belgium, you know....And i'm so busy with other crap I don't have time to organize ANYTHING...

| | | I would be all over this idea. Count me in. Also, I know people who might be able to arrange a more legal voyage into the Kress or Maas bldg. But I have to know if a group is serious about it before I ask.

| | | Yeah, I would SERIOUSLY be into a legal exploration--Not that that sort of thing is without its risks, since you could still break somethin'... It would have to be soon, though...The wife is having twins in the next month or two!!! Afterwards I'll be out of action for a little while....
