What ya doin in my waters?
| | The Parking Garage that Never Was < on 6/23/2011 11:19 PM >
| | | Today I was taking shots in the dark and looking at Google Earth for any buildings or structures that looked out of place. BooYah. Not even a half mile from my apartment I see a structure in a field with a retention pond and with no paved roads going to it. It looked like a parking lot from the satellite pictures. Could it be an abandoned parking garage? Perhaps. Lets go check it out. Found some easy safe parking, grabbed the backpack, and hit the trail. After a short walk we come upon a two story parking garage that was never finished. We found an easy not too overgrown way in. Walking around inside I got some pics and video. There was graffiti, unused 2 x 4s, remnants of campfires, concrete forms and that was about it. Next, we decided to go to the second level that is not covered. The ramp a car would take to get up was never completed, but the climb up was not too bad. There was nothing up there.
Just lots of sunshine and heat. We thought that we should go check out the shed like structure. Pretty lame. Looks like it may have been used to store construction materials. But nothing was in there.
I wanted to check out the culverts draining into the pond so we proceeded. Found some interesting animal carcasses. Somehow there was one leg of a deer. Nothing interesting about the culverts. Let us get out of this heat. The End
