Then apparently you havent been to enough places.
Every place is different. It's general rule of thumb (that I follow, dont take it as gospel people), especially in downtown settings. If it's got electricity, it most likely has an alarm, if you dont want to keep that prudent idea in your head, be prepared to have the chance of cops showing up to check out the call they got. With my experiences, power and alarms go hand in hand, for many reasons. And OF COURSE there are variables, there always are, but generally speaking, power means alarms/cameras more times than not.
|
I agree with this, mostly because I live here, and we have personally set off alarms in many abandoned, or vacant spots. Not all of them of course, but some. Some powered, some not. Fiend and I have however visited buildings fully powered with running water and A/C that have been vacant for a long time. We took the chance, and we got away with it. It wasn't alarmed. He isn't saying you shouldn't go in powered buildings, just you are taking a chance when you do it. We do it all the time. I've also set off many alarms. We recently had a popular abandonment set on fire downtown. What used to be open game is now a dead building, abandoned for almost 20 years, and the bastard has alarms all over it. The building however is not powered. You never know. I don't know about where the rest of you guys are, but here in Tulsa we have a bad problem with vandals, and arsonists. Not to mention taggers, and for that reason a lot of our buildings downtown are alarmed. I think what Mr_Fiend was trying to say is, your best bet to keep out of trouble is not to mess with powered buildings. They could be alarmed. And I agree with that.
TL;DR - Don't go in powered buildings if you're worried about alarms. They could be alarmed. [last edit 6/6/2011 11:18 PM by KingJalopy - edited 1 times]

Watch out Lou, you might get asked why you think youre a decent explorer or get called a security system expert by the tagger.
|
Tagger is such a filthy word. A name written in marker? Tagger makes it seem like I'm going into a building to thrown down a piece. I doubt you have seen an actual Sokko tag anywhere. Wanna calm yer balls with me?
