| | | So I never post over here, because I know I am not super mega leet at taking pictures. But I like the way this one came out.

| | | The backs are gone (no detail), and the sky seems blown out. Maybe a bad day for the lighting side of it.
The composition seems ok, but the tree adds to much distraction from what seems to be the focus of the picture ( get pulled to the top ). Maybe a wider angle and closer?

| | | I'm not bothered by the tree, I actually think it adds an interesting frame to the subject. I think the sky is blown out too much but the only way to fix that is maybe go back and shoot it on a cloudier day, very early in the morning, dusk or maybe even at night? I really like the composition but the lighting makes it hard to see that there's an actual person on that thing..which is the coolest part of the photo.

| | | The third in your second post I like better because I can see the person. I didn't even realize there was a person in the original shot till someone else said so. Also because I can see more detail on the metal structure. In the original it was too dark. Skies are tricky. Mine are often blown out in my photos too. It's a gamble between having my shadows too dark, or my highlights too light. I often side with the shadows. If I knew how to do layers I would do two frames and expose one for the highlights and the other for the shadows and then merge them, but I don't know how to do that. EDIT: Sorry, I meant the SECOND photo in your second post, the third photo overall. MY BAD. [last edit 4/28/2011 3:23 AM by barefootpoetry - edited 1 times]

| | | I like the second one down cause it's confusing...don't know if he's going up or down. he's almost centered which I think works pretty well in this case. Also, the exposure is a bit better.

| | | I wish there weren't trees there bc I feel it messes with the lines of this metal piece you are climbing. I do understand what you were going for. I think it's a good first attempt and I'm glad you posted on here finally!!!! keep it up!! it does not matter if your leet at this. It's the fact that you get out and do it to begin with that matters!!! and no one is leet. Thats a god like status no one should hold ever. People may have great or fantastic work, but it does not make them gods. They all started and crawled up just like everyone else. always remember that! and no offense but people need to start speaking a fucking normal language again. speaking in text speak makes me want to stab my eye out with a rusty coat hanger, eat it, puke it up, and then eat it again.

| | | The second photo, with the climber halfway up, is the best. This has the best exposure, shows the right details, and captures the right motion in the movements of the climber to make the photo's message ring clear.
