...but a poet lived here. A big thank you to MattK who had permission to this location.

About the shots: All were taken with my D300. I ditched the ultra-wide and shot exclusively with my new Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8, a beautiful piece of glass worth every penny. Any constructive criticism is appreciated:

These look awesome. Really interesting textures on 8 and 9.

p.s. I hate you for having the 24-70. I want it so bad but I think I'm going to settle for the 17-55 2.8 just because it's not quite as ridiculously expensive.

NO! Save up for the 24-70! You'll be happy you did.

Isn't it meant to be used with full frame cameras? I have a D80, soon to be D90.

It's not a DX lens like the 17-55 so yes, it will cover a full frame. I love mine to death.

Very nice, I suck at critique so I'll just say that I reeeeally like #4, that is a killer shot. 2 is pretty awesome as well.

It'll give you a wider view without a crop sensor, but it'll work for both types. Plus you'll already have some nice glass if you move up to a full frame sensor camera body.

I'm digging 2 and 9. 4 would be better without the person in the background, too distracting. 6 seems out of focus?

It might be hard to tell due to the size, or the fuzziness/caked on shit on the mirror, but this is sharp as hell. 1:1 crop:

Yup, you're right. I guess it's an illusion of the dirty mirror and the sandy texture of the boards.
