I think it's right outside of Barstow, CA if I'm mistaken. Can probably look at Google Images in that general area and find it.

I was using tomfoolery and tongue-in-cheekery to suggest that I'd love to do "it" with you.
All fun and games aside though,
As much as I'd love to hit it up with ya on the 1st, I really can't swing it. Too far, gas costs too much, especially since I'll be headed through there 13 days later.
However... if you're interested in seeing it AND hitting up a mineshaft exploring trip with us, you could probably carpool with me and a female friend who's also going. You live literally due east of me, by about 2.5 hrs. I'm in Bakersfield just inland of ya.
The location we're camping at is a mine which has no verticals, but has several miles of large cross-section tunnel system and inclines which stretch far into the mountain both above and below. We've been there several times before.
And if you're interested in some beginner level vertical work, I have enough equipment to outfit you and train you the basics as well. I'm a rescue trained vertical access instructor. We're gonna hit up some new systems out there that I scouted out on my last trip. *shrugs* Lemme know.

Decrepitude and I were there just after Christmas, so it was obviously still there then, although the slides themselves were long gone. I suppose, from along the highway, it could appear that there was nothing left...
