So I figured maybe you guys would be into this...I work in 3D visual effects etc and I like to do abandoned environments in my personal work(course I like to go exploring for real much better)...This is all created digitally, and I gave it some different lighting scenarios...I'd love any critiques and I might begin taking requests or if somebody wants me to recreate a real site so they can test different lighting, etc I would be interested in that as well...

I've thought about making galleries like this for our own little website, almost like an interactive tour. Would be a fun, albeit time-consuming and very involving, project.
Your work is really great, but I can't seem to shake the feeling that it looks like (really good) graphics from a video game. Ars Gratia Adventuris

It's totally CG, and thanks for the comments guys.
Yea, its not perfect, it was done for fun and the professional projects I work on usually have more time/talented people.
We should pick one awesome location and I would build it out as best I can(I specialize in modeling/texturing, I could find some really talented guys to light and render it)...We could even do a contest where the forum takes a vote as to the "coolest location"

I hate chatting up people about their endless pics but this deserves note. Congrats, man. I'll actually complement this work. It's different and I like the lighting variations. Don't to expect to hear me complement anyone elses pic for at least a few months. There's enough blowjobbing here without having to hear me pretend to complement every pic that comes my way.

Very cool. Briefly the idea of a UER centric game popped into my head but then I realized it would be better with zombies and the whole UER concept kinda disappeared. Still awesome renders though, what are your tools of choice for putting that together, and how long did it take to create?

Wow, thanks so much guys! I kinda expected some comments like "get out and do some real exploring" or something, I really do appreciate the comments...And I'll get some more on the way soon!
phractal - I feel really honored! And I'll be looking to see if you comment on pics in the next few months!
explorobit - Thanks! I use Maya and render with MentalRay, and I use photoshop for textures. I think it probably took around 15 hours, I just did it during the down times at work for a few weeks. A UER game would be pretty cool, evading cops, crazy homeless crackheads, etc!
dead_light - Appreciate it! I use Maya and Photoshop, render with MentalRay. It is a finished project, but it was just for fun. What made you stop 3D?

My favourite is the last one with the sunlight creeping in across the room. It's less scary, more real. Gives the room that feeling of a once used/lived in place, but now it's left for the Sun, snow and wind... I'm typing this with my middle fingers. I love the smell of mold in the fall.

Wow, this is impressive stuff with each image seeming so different from one another simply due to light.
