Heights like that usually freak me out but that was so ridiculously high I didn't react as I usually do. I think my brain couldn't comprehend how high it was.

THAT clip actually made me uncomfortable in the extreme.

About 13 years ago, I had a job working for a little radio station in a bum phuck town, and the signal went out on a holiday. well, the station didnt have an engineer they were so small. They would contract to the engineer from another station in the town. After calling the station owner, he said he would get the guy down there. This guy named Ted called about 30 minutes later and after walking me through about 10 things to try over the phone, he says "oh, the only thing left is to check the whatchamacallit on the tower." (i dont actually remember what he called it.)

This involved him telling me to put on a harness, and climb to a box 300 ft up a tower that was on the top of a hill a half mile from the studio. I calmly explained that I didnt think that was my job, and could he please get his arse over there so I did not electrocute myself on a tower in the middle of nowhere? I was told he was not coming and if I wanted to fix it, turn the power off, take the part and climb up there, and do the repair, and he hung up.

The manager called back and threatened my job, and I ended up climbing the tower. Wind was blowing HARD, and storm clouds were all around. That damn climb was only 300 ft, the hight didnt bother me, but combine it with the fear of lightning on a metal tower and not really knowing what the hell I was supposed to be doing up there, and wondering the whole time if i really turned the power to the tower off, and it was an interesting time.

Blah Blah Blah. Shut up and open the damn door.

I've climbed some tall towers to base jump them, but nothing that high. Also you climb clipped in, or you should anyways. I like to climb on a proper ladder, once he got passed that part is where I would start to get uncomfy.
