| | | I recently moved to a new city, so after being a shut-in for a couple weeks to study, I went out looking for some likely abandons. While driving back from sites I previously noted, I decided to take a different route home, and it payed off. In spades. I've yet to go to the library to research it, and thus far internet searching has proved fruitless, so I have no idea what this place was. It has service elevators, 2 cold storage rooms on the third floor, a vault on the first, and a basement that'm saving for next time, but will doubtlessly contain something equally nonsensical. Also, this building is a block from the cop shop, half a block from the fire station, and at the edge of the downtown district. POE under the girders, by an old loading bay. *****Edit:am I putting this thread in the right place? I should have opened with "I'm an idiot". 1.

| | | Nice. We hit up an Atlas site out your way a couple months ago. There was an interesting site we couldn't get to outside of Assaria - it was on top of a hill that had a pioneer cross. I forget the name. Neighbors said we would have to ask the land owner to climb it but the owner wasn't home. There were old air force barracks at the base and at the top should be the remnants of a Titan missle site.

| | | Yes, the safe is cool, but honestly, it was like the cherry on top of this building. Literally in the last room I went into lol. And yep, good ol' Salina, Ks. I'm gaining a little respect for the abandons in the area, actually. More than I figured, certainly.

| | | Fairly standard unreinforced brick masonry structure, but in really good shape for an abandonment. Nice find. I especially like the solid wood antique built in furniture. Likely the building was originally pretty upscale offices before being industrial.
