High visibility building access

There's a huge abandoned building that sits between two highly used (even at night) streets in Atlanta. How should I go about getting in without being seen?

There's a really easy 2 step process I often follow for locations like these.

1. Find a POE from a distance.
2. Enter

it's hard to help if you're vague about it. Is there ever any breaks in traffic? are these main streets or side streets? Is the poe around back? etc.

Walk around it and try to spot a suitable entrance without actually looking too suspicious. If you find one, park at a distance so that you can observe it and work out the traffic light patterns. You can even linger right on or near an entrance and just pretend to be talking on your cell phone or something.

If the pedestrian traffic isn't constantly lingering, hold until the cars at the next block are stopped at a red light so that the street in front of it is clear and wait for a break in foot traffic. Enter Building. If there were no alarms triggered and you closed up your POE behind you, you should be good.

Every situation is different though, so basically just attempt an entry with the least amount of people staring at you, and don't dress different than an average city goer.

And I have no idea about the details of your situation, so that is my standard template for action.

If Atlanta is anything like Dallas, you could always give a bum a couple of smokes to make a big distraction....

The other option is to make it look like you're allowed to enter, assuming you have a PoE.

That's the ticket. Workboots, reflective vest, and you can go in broad daylight. A helmet too to disguise your face if you look too young. Nobody gives workers a second glance.

I found that doesn't work when you enter a window! Doh!

Act like you belong there, and slip through the alleyway if there is one. Most people dont even notice others on a street if it is well traveled.

Thanks for the heads up everyone. I have a good idea of how to proceed now, thanks to you. The building is bordered on one side by a railroad, and I think that's my ticket in.

lol.
I find that 'look like you belong there' never seems to come with the warning "if you get busted it's an extra charge for impersonation"
depending, of course, on where you live. and whether or not you're smart enough to talk your way out of it.

I just meant to act like you aren't trespassing, not act as if you were a construction worker, etc.

It's not the AJC building, but that's now on my list. I haven't gone in yet, been busy. I'll post a description and pics here when I do.

Nope. I'll reveal the name of the location after I've explored it. You'll probably figure it out beforehand anyways.
