Proper Underwater UE

I just came across this video showing one of my favourite dive sites, and definitely is a different type of UE. It's an old powerhouse in the Saint Lawrence that was part of one of the towns flooded to make the seaway.

The powerhouse itself is at 3:41.

That is SWEET! I would love to learn to scuba dive. did they take down the structure of the building and leave just the insides and the dam?

I used to live near and go to the St. Lawrence all the time when I was little.

I was always fascinated with the thought of a town under all that water.

Thanks for sharing this!

Up here in Mass the Quabbin Reservoir used to be four towns i guess.

From Wiki- http://en.wikipedi.../Quabbin_Reservoir

"When the buildings in the towns flooded by the reservoir were destroyed, the cellars were left intact. The remnants of the buildings and roads can occasionally be seen when the water level is low, and old roads that once led to the flooded towns can be followed to the water's edge. Not all elements of the towns were flooded, however. Town memorials and cemeteries in the four towns were moved to the Quabbin Cemetery, located on Route 9 in Ware, just off the Quabbin's lands. Many other public buildings were moved to other locations."

Call me a wimp, but I could NOT, in good conscience, go into that manhole looking thing at the powerhouse. Something about being underwater like that freaks me out.

That is fucking awesome. It makes me want to explore the place, but at the same time creeps me out. Theres just something disturbing about things being underwater that aren't supposed to be there.

A few years back, given flippers and weights, I could do stuff like this - orient sideways so that you swim straight down like it's horizontal. But only for about a minute. And notice that someone had already gone down there, see bubbles? lol.
