A recent fav is the whole " FEMA concentration camps made out of current and abandoned military bases".These theories revolve around the UN(or the Masons, Illuminati, Russians, Scooby Doo etc.) making secret internment camps to enslave the public.My question is; Has anybody noticed anything weird going on at any of the abandoned bases, you know, beside the usual tagger? Just curious.....

There ya go, that one has some interesting news stories to back it up (as much as any conspiracy theory is supported by evidence). Y'know, major government contractor already held above the law, lots of taxpayer money, neocon (that's 'New Constitution' enthusiast) and the 'need' to imprison bunches of citizens (20,000 per location at 800+ sites) declared 'enemy combatants.'
My favorite thing about conspiracy theories is how the lack of evidence 'proves' that they're true...

I came across that one too! I think it was funny that the enlisted man she talked to had his whole family wiped out but she was still making her freak-chica web page like she had slipped under the radar. She had some story about these railcars outfitted with shackles and some kind of guillotine at the front for executing christians er something like that. Supposedly, the number of these railcars is in the tens of thousands, but they are all stashed on old, seldom-used rail lines. It seems like it would be hard to hide that amount of box cars without somebody asking a few questions.It's kind of a bummer because some of these people might make good fiction writers if they were'nt so crazy.

most conspiracy theories are quite outlandish and unreasonable; for example, that the military is building camps to enslave the population. The military enforces the martial will of the government but is also comprised mostly of conscientious volunteers; in a society whose hallmark is freedom and open access to information, there would be a coup and popular uprising thrown against any US government attempting a widespread act like this -- the world has changed since the Japanese internment in WW2. understand that likewise, most layers of the US military & gov't even at the senior level is comprised of well-meaning individuals and a broad-based conspiracy against the good of the people becomes largely impossible.
now to the question of secret bases, certainly such places exist for many interesting purposes. the NSA has vaults deep below Washington D.C. (10 stories underground!) and other facilities nationwide & worldwide. DARPA is worth mention, and the CIA and DIA have many facilities domestically and worldwide with various functions, and through gov't contracts the various branches of the US military collaborate with the private sector in the development of new technologies. some secret bases are the 22nd floor of an office building, or an army base hosting a proving grounds or a research centre... even sub-levels in a building on a campus like JPL which is largely unknown to employees of an already-secure site. or perhaps just a farmhouse outside Tehran where a device sits in a closet and records SIG-INT.
however, "Them" does not exist; there is no secret new world order, no illuminati and no shadow government. admittedly big business influences geopolitics far more than i am comfortable with, but these things tend to regulate themselves.
that said, I am fascinated by some of the development going into electronic warfare and espionage; specifically network-based attacks and interception/manipulation of frequencies. of the 'secret bases' currently operating, i believe these to be the most interesting. vaults where absolutely unbelievable hardware is set up, and technicians assigned. there are some truly amazing things going on out there.
