Exactly. Though I don't get caught (prolly just lucky so far). If I did by an owner or security I'd simply say I'm a photographer and I'm interested in the history of this old building/tunnel. If they pull a phone to call the cops or call for any kind of backup, I'm going to run...especially since I don't park at the site (usually not).
If it's a real cop, well shit, yah play the photography card, say my dad's a cop (hate playing that card, but it works 90%), and I'm not here to vandalize/shoot up/graffiti/murder hookers/etc. If still no go, well I'm prepared to take it like a man and no longer answer any of his questions.

Occasionally, I've used my reporting job as an excuse for why I'm poking around abandoned buildings. Just flash a digital recorder and most security and police will back off a little.
