| | | One thing I don't like in a lot of HDRs is the "halo" that appears around most objects. That would be my only complaint. Oh, and the church would be better straightened.

| | | yeah these are pretty nice for first tries. But whats up with the church? It defiantly needs a straightening- I couldn't tell if this was on purpose, but it looks more like a mistake. [last edit 11/5/2008 11:37 PM by Dr. Sneeze - edited 1 times]

| | | I love #5, but it appears that #6 has a little issue along where the trees meet the sky. I don't what that specifically is, can someone who knows HDR clarify what's going on there?

If you're using Photomatix for your HDR's (it is a really great program) turn up the luminosity setting. The halo effect appears when there's a stark contrast between lighter and darker areas, such as trees to a sky. Turning up the luminosity a few levels will reduce and usually completely erase that effect, just depends on the picture.

The highlight smoothing adjustment might help with that too. Nice work.

| | | This is exactly the type of HDR I'm not a fan of at all. Completely flat images, no contrast, wacked out alien looking colors... not my cup of tea.

| | | I don't really know why people even bother with HDR, unless one can't tell it is HDR, it sucks.

| | | HDR, in my opinion, is completely necessary in some conditions. image #4 in the original post is a good example of this. The shot I posted was a day of photography I did in which I shot nearly ever photo as an HDR, because of the quality of light due to the overcast condition.
I know why I bother with HDR.

| | | Just in case you don't know, there are other ways to work with washed out, or over exposed skies. (so you don't have to underexpose the rest of your shot to catch the clouds) Neutral density and graduated filters....
