Like I said, It's not a matter of competition for me and I won't be apologizing to anyone. There's a thing called RATIONALITY. In London, Ont. The police are very strict. It would be foolish of me to Break and Enter into a fully boarded surveilanced place with motion sensors. It's a certainty that you will get caught. Then you would have to face the consequence of trying to explain your way out of a Breaking and Entering charge which here in Canada you can get up to 2 years in the Kingston Penitentiary. It would be considered "forced" entry. FORCE = Break, ENTRY = Enter. therefore, Break and Enter = prolonged jail time. NOT WORTH MY VALUABLE TIME.

Get your anger in check, dude. People have been in there without issue, so in no way are you "guaranteed" to get caught. And since when is a security guard a definitive source of history? At no point in their training do they learn of a building. Hell, a lot of them guard a different place every day.

Stop acting so high and mighty when you've got a lot to learn yourself.

Grow up you goof. London is a strict and very heat place for Urbexing... I suggest you keep your comments to yourself. Since you're the wise one, provide me a link of the site's history. The building looks in good condition on the outside. But half of the roof is collapsed. HAVE YOU ever been there? Sounds like you haven't. Seems to me that you're presuming you know everything about the condition of the place.

Why does everyone have to be such an asshole on this forum to everyone? Is it because it's mostly just American individuals? It goes to show alot... I was told by legitimate sources including a security guard a brief overview of the site's history. So what if it could potentially be an Urban Legend, you don't have to be some sluggish asshole about it. Have some fuckin' consideration.

There is something called humility, which you seem to obviously lack.
Manitou was not being rude, you were simply being corrected. Instead of handling it like a grown up, you seem to have gotten your Pampers in a knot. How about we take a deep breath, take a few sedatives and relax?

Security guards aren't historians, they're people hired to do the boring and menial task of watching property. Ontario employs hundreds of REAL LIFE historians every year to investigate and document the goings-on of places like this. You don't have to get upset just because your exciting urban legend was busted. (For the record, going back on Devil's night is a great, great way to raise some eyebrows.)

The conditions of buildings are often exaggerated. The security guard may have told you it was "about to collapse", but his version of "about to collapse" could just mean there's a roof missing and some spongy floorboards. Until you've been inside, I'd hold your comments.

You also seem to forget that respect is a two way street. Coming in here and acting like an asshole isn't going to get you the positive, welcoming response you seem to expect.

And besides, who has time to worry about security when there are dog/monkey hybrids stalking about?

Edit: London is not that far from Woodstock. Why don't you meet up with Trains and/or PhilG. They'd show you around I'm sure. On the flip side, try finding people from London from UER as well. If enough of them can vouch for you, then apply for full membership.

He'll need to change his attitude first. Sorry.

The term goof to many is a very large insult depending on how it's taken.
"The term `Goof' has also come to be a slang name for a child molester, especially in prisons."

You really are not making a good impression. Like I said before, Noob or not, how long do you really think your insults are going to be tolerated?
Here is a link to some of the history and what was done in that hospital. Used this fancy website called "GOOGLE", I know, it's not as reliable as a security guard, especially one that is an expert in the paranormal, but it does the job.

Actually appears that you are being the asshole...And honestly, I am a Canadian, and you are making quite the fool of yourself, and making your fellow Canadians look bad. I would suggest you shut your mouth while you are ahead and just try and get along with people.

WHAT???? You said in your 3rd post, the following:
Posted by Lingerer_of_Silence
I'm going back on Devils night with some friends and will ask security for a source with concise information regarding it's history.

You didn't get SHIT from Bob the security guard, other than his assurance it was haunted!

Dude, you need to just ease up and relax or you aren't going to last long here.
The place has been in the DB since 2004. It's great that you took pics, but people have been there, AND inside. London isn't some hardcore strict zone.
Then again, going to an abandoned place when you are a 23 year old punk on devils night, may just make it seem that way!

Look, I apologize for alot that's happened. Things are very stressful right now, personally. Reason being why I was initially an asshole is because I've read many posts and have noticed alot of Urbex Elitists. That is not cool. You know, I have responsibilities in life to take care of such as bills and am in the midst of being promoted to manager at work, so I can't risk going to jail for getting caught in a high patrolled place.

I've sneaked my way into places before, but there is no chance for this place. 3 years ago it was easy to get into this place, but I have never even known of it's existence. If one were to try and sneak in they would immediately get spotted by security cameras, or if managed to get passed by, you would set off the motion sensors. Trust me, this place is in very bad condition inside, I had a friend tell me that he went in this place years ago and told me that he couldn't go any further than the first couple of rooms because for one the stairs were eaten away in fractions, and for two, there were many holes on the main floor. I understand the exaggeration that is spoken of by authority figures, I wasn't born yesterday. However, this particular security guard has been working at the hospital for quite some time now and knows the history. He went into great detail. This Asylum is located in the backyard of ACTIVE PSYCHIATRIC GROUNDS (London Psychiatric Hospital). They have cameras pointed in every direction.

If you are this concerned about being arrested, this might not be the right pass time for you. Just a thought. Caution is one thing. Total paranoia is another.

As far as I know I was the first person to access this building. While there is a partial roof collapse over-top one of the sun rooms the rest of the roof was quite intact. Of course, things may have changed since I was last there, but judging from your photos, they haven't.

you are so gonna get owned very soon when someone posts up interior pics of this place. Then I hope you will apologise to said person.

This is not the finest photo of this place but it does show one of the recovery rooms.

There is also this photo which was taken from the third story window overlooking the roof.

And Lingerer, I wasn't entirely trying to break your balls here, but there are certain things that particularly bother me, and extreme hyperbole about locations is certainly one of them.

I see this thread is improving. Good, good!

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

the term that comes to mind here is 'trial by fire'

if you get your back up the flames get hotter and ye will burn.

there may appear to be elitists here but more often than not its experienced ppl who are continually bombarded by the ranks of wannabes appearing through the cracks and making lots of noise about this and that.

so make less noise and take it easy. enjoy taking pics and chill out.

all will be well.
