i bet this would be stupid easy to set up.
would you be able to have an option of viewing all the posts made since each person's last visit?
it makes viewing everything MUCH faster.
i find myself having to sift through all the crap ive already read trying to find new stuff.
that way i wouldn't miss out on so many important threads.

|  | | | first, i suggest you use the UER.CA interface (go to www.uer.ca).
then, look at the threads. if there's a grey icon, it's not new. if there's a green icon, it's new. if there's a blue icon, it has new posts.
next, click the green or blue icon and the forum will immediatly take you to the newest post. all posts you haven't read yet will appear with a blue background.

it just seems that rather than following the trail of colored icons with a rosetta stone it may be simpler to just click one link that takes you to a list of all the posts i havn't seen. then i fly through them and biggedy bam i'm on my way.

I suspect there are hundreds, if not thousands of threads you haven't read on this forum, I know there are that many for me, and I use to try and read every new post. If he had such a feature, you would get back a huge list of posts that would have to be ordered in some kind of way. Otherwise nothing would make much sense, even if you had the recent posts on the top, it'd still be confusing as hell.

Other forums I have been on have a "go the first unread post" button on every thread near the reply button. You click and it takes you to the first post you have not seen. Would that work/be feasible? It just makes it easier because I know sometimes I don't check the site for awhile and people will go crazy on posts and I can't always remember what page I last read. If I had phone line internet access I know it would drive me crazy waiting for pages to load until I could figure out where I have read to in the threads.
